Ron Paul Is Dangerous, Says Senator

-Tom Woods Letter

New Tom Woods Book This Year

Believe it or not, I’m probably going to release a book this year. This seems impossible, given how busy I've been designing courses for the Ron Paul homeschool program. (Check out my Western Civilization I and Government courses; Western Civilization II and U.S. Constitution will also be available this fall.) It will be a collection of some of my writing that has not yet appeared in book form. It's all zingy, punchy, full of information, and, I think, fun to read. So I’m going to take all this stuff and put it in one convenient place.
Any suggestions for a title? Most (though not all) of the content will be replies to critics of the liberty message. If I use your title, I’ll give you a lifetime subscription to as a gesture of thanks. Don't reply to this message with your title; please post it at this link.

I will be giving priority to the e-book version, but I will probably also make a paper version available as well.
Of course, supporting listeners of my podcast will automatically receive the book. If you’re supporting my show, I am deeply grateful, so as a supporting listener you’ll keep getting extra stuff from me automatically until I drop dead.

Shows You May Have Missed

Here's what we've covered since the last issue of this Letter:

Militants Take Key Iraqi Cities
Daniel McAdams of the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity discussed what could be the most important development in Iraq since the 2003 invasion.

Current Events: Cantor and Bergdahl
Justin Raimondo of discussed the significance of the surprise defeat of Eric Cantor, plus the real story of the Bergdahl/Guantanamo swap.

The Late Scholastics: Christians for Freedom
Alejandro Chafuen, possibly the world's foremost expert on the economics of the Late Scholastic theologians, finds a free-market tradition in what for some is an unexpected place.

Rockwell on the State, the Military, and Propaganda
Lew Rockwell returns to the show to discuss the state and war-making, as well as the hyper-militarized culture in the U.S.

Drones: The Good Kind?
Lawyer and professor Tim Ravich discusses the likely evolution of law in response to growing commercial uses for unmanned aerial vehicles.

I also ran a speech of mine this week from 2008 called "The Calamity of Anti-Capitalism: A Brief American History."

If you haven't already, please subscribe to the Tom Woods Show on iTunes or Stitcher so you don't miss an episode. The show airs for the first time at noon ET every weekday at and then is available in our archive or via iTunes and other podcatchers. And thank you!

I Respond to a Critic of Self-Ownership

Intercollegiate Review, one of the publications of the Intercollegiate Studies Institute (much of whose work is quite good), ran an atrocious attack on the libertarian idea of self-ownership.

Ron Paul Is Dangerous!

That's what Senator Thad Cochran of Mississippi had to say on Twitter this week. I bet you'll enjoy my snappy replies. (And follow me on Twitter @ThomasEWoods.)

See you next time!
